Wilson - sustainable tennis balls
Pros: plastic free and 100% sustainable packaging, 4x longer lasting balls, percentage of profits supports global sustainability projects
Cons: balls are still not compostable
Review: We love tennis. But we hate plastic. These eco-friendlier balls help eliminate plastic and are proven to last longer than the average tennis ball. It's a huge step in where we need to take sports from an environmental-friendly perspective.
Happy Sustainability Sunday…and we’ve got balls! We’ll keep rolling with sports for this week’s post, so we’re serving up some advice that will ensure you’re thinking more consciously about our beautiful planet! 🌏🎾
Each major sporting event can generate almost a million plastic bottles. Sports are supposed to be what unite us, not hurt our world even more. And although many countries and athletic organizations are promising to combat these issues, there are always some things that we can do as individuals without having to give up our $27 beers at the stadium. That’s what this post is about; we just have to always look for alternatives to our normal everyday routines. Even something as simple as tennis, where believe it or not, we use over 5.5 millions balls per year…that’s a lot of balls! And as much as we love the smell of cracking open a new can, this equates to so much plastic. So we were so happy when we saw that @wilsontennis offers balls without the plastic packaging! There’s almost always a way to think alternatively, away from plastic, but we just have to try a little harder!
Tennis and sports are a beautiful part of our world, unifying our people and enacting revolutions of change for socioeconomic and racial inequality. Let’s continue to use the beautiful game to make the world a better, cleaner, and more plastic-free place.
