Raw Elements - Plastic-Free & Marine-Safe Sunscreen
Pros: plastic-free, toxic-free, very thick (a little goes a long way and stays on skin for awhile), have white and dark skin tone options
Cons: small tin for a slightly expensive price, strange smell when it's in the tin, need to really scrub it off your body (or use an oil or soap to take it off)
Review: There are quite a few options when it comes to plastic-and-toxic-free sun lotions. However, each of them have their fair share of downfalls (prone to staining, price, effectiveness, etc.). BUT we can truly say that we were satisfied with Raw Elements. It is very efficient on staying on your skin (could probably apply once for the weekend lol). Although it's expensive for a small tin, if you use a little, it will be efficient in protecting you from the sun while making it last longer too.
Happy Sustainability SUUUNNNdayyy, emphasis on the SUN! Cuz it is blazing out here in the Arizona desert! And with spring in full swing and summer right around the corner, we know everyone is tryna get that (vitamin) D. But we need to remember to apply that sunscreen, and no one has you covered better than @rawelementsusa 🌞
If we remember to use it (this is your reminder), sunscreen is essential to protect us from the cancer-causing harmful rays of the sun. But once it wipes off, it ends up in our oceans and waterways, damaging our marine life and ecosystems. So many sunscreens use artificial ingredients and chemicals that are hazardous to our skin and the environment. And what’s even worst, is that these chemicals contain compounds that are contributing to the devastation of our already vulnerable and declining coral reefs.
Approximately 14K tons of sunscreen enter waters around corals each year, with chemicals that are extremely detrimental to the reefs. Sunscreen pollution must be stopped because we are losing some of the most productive ecosystems on the planet.
@rawelementsusa is forging the way on the much needed change in the sunscreen game. They provide the same full body sunscreen benefits, but without the chemicals and plastic. Made from certified, all-natural ingredients, their products provide the UVA-UVB true broad spectrum protection. And most products are available in recyclable/reusable tins, and shipped & packaged plastic-free. Not to remind you, but of the 260 million tons of plastic the world produces each year, more than 10 percent ends up in the oceans (watch Seaspiracy on @netflix).
If Earth is getting hotter, then you already know those rays are hitting our skin. That’s why we need a natural, sustainable, and eco-friendly sunscreen. You know with Raw Elements, if it isn’t produced by Mother Earth, it isn’t in their sunscreen. And while all of our pasty selves are desperate to get outside and catch some sun, it’s more important than ever to to remember to shield our skin while also considering the effects it has on our environment. 🌎
