We know. We all love it. That feeling of not adding more plastic to our planet! Even though every box of q-tips warns us “not to insert into ear canal”, we still do it anyways. So if we’re going to break the rules, let’s at least help tackle our plastics problem at the same time. Over 1.5 million cotton swabs are produced per DAY, adding to the 8 million metric tons of plastic that enter our oceans each year. Luckily there are plastic-free, compostable alternatives that have us covered. However, cotton production is very land/water demanding, so there are even reusable options that address all the issues of these tiny little q-tips (@lastobject). Choosing any of these environmentally friendly replacements is a step in the right direction. So, please DO NOT insert these into your ears, but if you do, do it sustainably…it’ll feel even better 🤤
