Review: The best way to practice safe sex while making Mother Earth happy. Condoms are comfortable and durable, but we recommend buying extra vegan lube to make everyone's experience more pleasurable!
Happy Sustainability Sunday! There is no better time to talk about condoms than on the anniversary of our birth.
Sex is a beautiful thing. But it’s important to be safe. Not just for you and your partner, but for our favorite mistress, Mother Earth. Any time you have sex, you’re basically having a threesome with the planet, so you have to think about his/her feelings just like you would with any other partner. We are fortunate enough to live in a society where we have effective contraception, benefiting the environment in a plethora of ways. These sustainable options will also contribute to our overpopulation problem, which is directly correlated to climate change.
Since their invention in 1855, modern condoms were the most revolutionary invention since sliced bread. Today, over 450 million condoms are sold per year…and we can’t even get a single text back! Although latex is a decomposable material, most will be tossed in a landfill, generating even more waste for our planet. There are numerous forms of contraceptives, and we would be lying to you if we said condoms are the most earth-friendly. But with their popularity, we figured if we are going to use them, we might as well promote ones that are vegan and sustainable!
These condoms by @lovabilityinc are made with natural vegan latex AND free of harmful ingredients (all the packaging is made from recyclable material too). Plus, these bad boys can stretch to over 15”! Any bigger, you might have an another problem.
In this unequal world, millions lack access to effective contraceptives. So we need to be conscious of the ones we pick to ensure we aren’t further damaging the planet. Condoms are just one of the many types of protections out there; with different options for different relationships. Climate change is worsening by the second, and as much as sex may take your mind off of it, it’s kinda contributing to the problem. Sex should be fun and intimate, and nothing is sexier than sustainability. Cuz the next time you were just looking to have a little fun, 27 years later you could end up with two adult twins posting about eco-friendly condoms.
