Happy Sustainability Sunday! But more importantly, Happy Mother’s Day! We want to send our love to our wonderful mother, as well as to all other moms, soon-to-be mommy’s, and loved ones who have passed away 💜. We truly thank you for all that you’ve done to raise us to the people we have become today. And of course, we can’t celebrate Mother’s day without the OG, Mother Earth 🌎.
One of the most important things our mom taught us is respect. How we treat other human beings is fundamental to our expressions of love. But recently, it feels like as a society, we’ve lost that respect. Not only towards each other, but towards our planet too. We stopped respecting the environment a long time ago, and it’s on the brink of collapse.
Like with our actual mothers, as much as we love them, it can get shaky at times. We get upset with them, we forget to call them, and we temporarily forget everything they’ve done for us. But no matter what, they are there for us waiting with open arms. And Mother Earth needs us to come back, badly. She’s crying, she’s suffering, and she’s being neglected by her very own children. It’s up to us if we are going to listen.
Through our sustainability posts, our hope is to bring awareness to every decision we make; to truly think about the implications of our choices. Today, we are launching a blog page on our website so that it’s easier to browse through some alternatives to our everyday habits.
Unlike our moms, who are aging like fine wine, our planet is getting older, more fragile, and susceptible to catastrophic events. It’s happening right in front of our eyes. The evidence is there. The scientists are begging us to act. Mother Earth needs us to change our ways. So let’s do what our mother’s taught us: let’s respect the only Mother Earth we have. We love you Mom! 💜
