Swedish Dish Cloth - Compostable, Reusable Paper Towels
Pros: last FOREVER, plastic-free, compostable, super absorbent, extremely versatile
Cons: ours arrived in plastic packaging (we believe they changed to compostable/recycling packaging - will check with next order)
Review: Another quick way to make your home more sustainable. These cloths can be used to clean, absorb water from your tofu, and just about anything else. You should never ever have to buy another paper towel roll again!
Happy Sustainable Sunday! The weekend is coming to an end, and it’s time to clean up that mess from last night. But instead of reaching for those wasteful paper towels, we put on our best Brawny imitation (swipe to see who wore it better) to show you what sustainable options are even mightier💪🏽. It’s about time we start thinking about all the harm these little sheets of paper are causing our planet.
Every year, over 13 billion pounds of paper towels are used in the US alone, making up more than 50% of the entire world’s consumption of this product. And although many of the paper towel brands are made from recycled material, paper towels themselves cannot be recycled. Which means they only end up in our landfills. Paper towel manufacturing has major contribution to deforestation, loss of habitat, and pollution. Nearly 270 million trees are cut down a year in order to sustain our overly wasteful paper towel use.
It may seem like a huge habit to break, but once you switch, it could not be any easier. All thanks to @swedishwholesale dish clothes. These biodegradable, 100% plant-based, and reusable clothes completely eliminate the need for any paper towels. They are extremely absorbent, durable, and very fast drying. We use them all throughout the house for spills, cleaning, napkins, etc. Even after a year, they still are in great shape. Plus they come in super fun colors 🌈🌈.
Swapping out paper towels may seem like a drastic change, but we were surprised how little we actually needed them. So next time before you grab a paper towel, crumple it up into a ball, and toss it in a bin like your Steph Curry, think about switching to reusable ones like a real baller...“GRETTAA” 🏀🗑
